I drove 30 miles to bring you that business
“John & Dawn,
I received a thank you card from you this week for giving you my business. There was a specific reason
why I drove 30 miles to bring you that business.
I will put forth a reasonable effort to solve problems on my own, especially when the cost of repair could
exceed the value of the vehicle. There is a transmission repair shop within 3 miles of my home. When I
stopped there to talk about the possible causes for my trouble, I listened to the owner tell me how
unqualified the other businesses in the area are “when it comes to transmission work”. He would give
me no information. On the way out of his door, he handed me a small stack of business cards and said
“Hey if you know anybody that needs trans repair, give them one of my cards”. I didn’t take any cards,
but I’ve shared his information with many.
Then I stopped @ Frank’s Transmission. I spoke with John. I explained everything that I had already
done; he took time to share some possibilities with me. I expressed my appreciation, and then he
replied “if you’ve got any more questions, let me know“. That’s it! John’s willingness to help me. That
is why my truck came to your business, 30 miles without second gear. That’s good business!
